LG Chocolate 3 (LG VX8560) use music as ringtone?

Hello! I have two quick questions about the LG Chocolate 3 (LG VX8560).

- Can you use your music as a ringtone?

- Does the phone support .ics calendar files? Can you transfer calendar files to the phone?

It is a Yes...but in a weird way
Yes because you can use a Data cable in combination of .mp3 and Bitpim create a ringer

It has sharp design, digital music player and camera everything but the bad thing about this is battery life is very poor.

I don't think you can transfer Calendar related things to your phone. As far as using music as a ring tone, you can't actually use the music file as the ring tone but you can use plenty of sites to turn the file into a ring tone.

The easiest way I found to save mp3s as a ringtone is to edit the mp3 to a size of about 195KB, (about 30 seconds worth of a song you like), on your micro sd card there is a folder named my_sounds. Place the edited mp3 file into that folder. Put the card back into the phone, in the menu go to media center/music & tones/my sounds/and scroll down to and hi-lite the file you edited. Once your mp3 file is hilighted hit the options button at the tpo right of your phone/send/and type in your phone# and send it to yourself as a text message. At this point you can save the file as a ringtone.

I have tried texting mp3's from the computer to the phone, which is supposed to work but didn't. The text came through but no sound. Have you or anyone out there been able to do this ?

I just got this phone and the only way that I have found to put ringtones on it is to go to myxer.com and upload a song, select the 30 sec portion (it cannot be longer or it wont work) and have it sent in a text to my phone. The only annoying thing is that it will not allow you to forward the ringtone to friends even if you save it as a sound too. At least that has been my experience.
