VX8550 Prompts Question

I searched for this answer in the forums and looked in the manual and could not find the answer. There is a feature in the menu on my Chocolate 2 under Settings and Tools, Phone Settings, Voice Commands, Prompts, and Mode. Can someone please explain to me what the different modes are. Listed modes are Prompts, Readout +Alerts, Readouts, and Tones Only. The manual does not go into detail about this and I can't find the answer anywhere. Thanks in advance.
