MP3 Ringtones on Chocolate 3

I have an LG-VX8560 Chocolate 3 with Verizon Wireless and tried a tip that I found in this forum for saving MP3 clips as Ringtones without using a data cable and Bitpim, and it worked fine for me.

First, I copied my edited MP3s clips from my PC to my microSD chip into the subfolder my_sounds, and then inserted the chip back into my phone. Then I went under messaging and just sent "myself" a Picture Message attaching my MP3 clip as the Sound attachment portion of the message - sound only. Then once I received my pix message back and opened it, and it started playing, I selected Options and then Save as Ringtone, and that did the trick.
