Verizon LG Chocolate Randomly Wiped?

Hi,

I did a bit of searching before posting this but couldn't find anything about the problem I'm having, so if I missed another thread I apologize.

I've had a LG Chocolate VX8550LK for about a year. Tonight it started randomly turning itself on and off. Now when it turns on it's like the phone is completely wiped. All of my texts and contacts are gone. In addition the display says Service Required. Anyone ever run into this problem before or have any idea why the phone would get totally wiped?
