Turn of EVDO on LG VX8550 - location still work?

Hey, got a question...

If I turn off EVDO, can I still have location on, which lets you see where my phone is in case I lose it?

Yes, but it won't be as accurate. And disabling the EVDO will kill your internet speed.
They say that disabling the EVDO will increase your battery life, but you only gain maybe a few hours in standby and less than 30 min talking.

Don't think it's worth the time and hassle to gain such a small gain.
