Games for the LG Dare.

Now I know how to set it via Wallpaper, or tools (eztipcalculator, and worldclock).

Now some hints would be CASES matter! Not renaming it exactly will render the files null.

I am been playing around, trying to find some good games to play on the phone. Now I am unsure, what is wrong when you add a game, which only requires the mouse to play. Which every game I chose, was only "Point and clickable".

I added a few games and most of them do not work. Only one I got to work so far is the "Connect four" "Reversi" almost worked, but never loaded and had a broken screen. So any help would obviously help out in the greater cause. If its just a matter of reprogramming the swf file to "fit" then that I might be able to manage.

I just don't have enough time right now to search what is wrong during the game loading. All I get is a black screen. So if anyone has information as to whats happening or why its not working please enlighten me.

Nope.

I do not know how to execute java code.

If I figure out how. Then I could install games.
I in fact bought a game, to test how it works.

I don't know how, or better yet "What" the file format was. I presumed jre, or jar. Though I am not sure of it.

I do know its Java though. At least I know the game is a Java game.
If we have any advanced users in here who knows about the Dare more, and or the filesystem. Possibly we could do a lot.

I think I might have a method for creating shortcuts, and renaming stuff on the filesystem. By hex editing it and such. Though installing the game is a great task which I don't have too much time to spend on.

So maybe if we have a bunch of people trying this it'll speed up the process.

I downloaded a pack of games supposedly for the Dare, they are .jar format but I don't know what folder they go in, have you found out where the game you bought (I assume you mean downloaded in get it now) is stored?
I know vz nav is stored in brew/mod and brew/mif, pictures and ringtones go under brew/mod

I know where its stored. Its knowing where to put it to execute its installation.

If its a matter of just simply Drop and play. Then I could manage to figure it out.

I simply thought that the jar, was an installation file. Other then just the executable program like the game itself.

I'll look into it right now. I have some time for awhile. If I figure anything out. I'll post some feedback. Possibly helping others a like out.

is there free games for LG Dare?

Currently only "free" games would be the "swf" games you can replace on you're phone.
Those "swf" games stand for flash games. Remember since the LG Dare is only "touch". You must find a game which is "touch only", and works. I read that certain fle sizes don't work. So there might be a file size limit as well. That is not a fact, just some comments about it.

would you please tell me if i download those swf files, where would i put those flash files on my LG Dare? and where would i need to go to run those games?

Unfortunate for us LG Dare guys java is not supported at all on the Dare unless it is Telus. The Dare Supports a Brew format hence why you can see that jar files are saved in the brew folders. apparently(so i have researched and was able to find so take it as is) the buy it now games are formatted for a java coding, but when the game is downloaded its coding becomes encrypted in a brew format causeing it to be impossible to put java games on your phone via USB and Bitpim. Now keep this in mind this is what i have researched. I am not saying there is any valid proof in this. For as we all know anything is possible just make sure its not illegal. If anyone does manage to figure out this coding process please let me know. Thanks

here is the facts on java and the Dare.. VZW removed all java files from the firmware so as long as you have the VZW firmware you can not use java unless every one gets together and demand that the give us java.. on the other hand you can use telus firmware but doing this you will lose somethings and from what i exp it just is not worth it.. other op is buying a 1200.00 app that will port java apps to brew and then pay qualcomm to be a programer which runs around 400.00 ...so you can get a test sig that you can use to load app on phone.. ... best regards
