I currently have an LG EnV I am fixing to buy a Palm Treo, is it necesary for me to change my plan? I dont want to have to I told my mother it would not mess our plan up. can I run my Treo on the same plan as my enV?
No, it wont extend my contract. I am getting the treo off of eBay. I am just wanting to know if my existing plan will work or if I HAVE to buy some data services. Because I dont want to. Also, I am not interested in email or anything on it. I just want it for basic calls and texting and the calendar features and other basic apps on the phone. No internet. I was just wondering if the current calling and text messaging plan that we have will be able to be used on the treo. I hope you can tell me what I want to hear?

Re: enV to Palm Treo 700w
U can activate this on ur exsisting plan but u will have to opt for the pda/smartphone pay as you go which is $.015 per kb used which will add up very quickly. There is a $29.99 data package which only allows 10mb of data per month there is also a $45.00 data package which allows unlimited data.
Hope this helps
Thanks

Re: enV to Palm Treo 700w
as im reading this it appears he is on a family plan with his mother... thus putting him on a voice plan "im guessing"for 9.99 per month. now lets throw in a treo!
we have voice for 9.99 + unlimited data 45.00= 55.00 a month? if u switch from the 9.99 add a line then u would be paying more for voice which isn't nessary. the 79.99 planis simply a 450 min plan with unlimited data added to it. however they are giving u a $5.00 break for combining them. if u add data to the 9.99 plan then u have the same ammount of shared min u currently have but now u save 25.00 per month vs going to a single line plan.
voyager had to be on a nationwide play as the nationwide plans have changed to a 1.99 per mb pricing. this is extending the coverage area that certain programs "like vz navigator" will work. with some of the data features "not sure exactly which ones" of the voyager vzw has made it mandatory to switch to nationwide priceplans to make life easier for vzw and the customer as there will be fewer calls to tech stating "why doesn't this work here, bla bla yes it does say extended network . bla bla bla..." anyways it is to extend certain data features of the voyager into extended network.

Re: enV to Palm Treo 700w
As far as I know, you do NOT need to extend your contract if you want to switch over to the treo 700w. Also you do NOT need to purchase a data package (I had an XV6700 without a data package). However, i think if you do the ESN change online you will automatically have a data package plan attached. Thus I suggest you call in to change your ESN number and tell them specifically that you do not want a data package. good luck.

u do not have to extend the contract. and u do not have to have a data package with the treo 700w. however on a pay as u go plan it will charge u $.015 per kb..... don't use the email or web on the device or u will likely have a $700.00 phone bill !

the best way to safegaurd yourself from using internet on accident:
1) hard reset your phone
2) when the verizon.cab is installing, soft reset the phone
3) voila you now have an unbranded phone
