I need a Micro USB data cable to connect my VX9100 EnV2 to my computer. I am trying to pick up a generic cable which is way cheaper than a name brand. Question is what type of cable EXACTLY" am I looking for. Is it Miro B USB cable? Are all the Micro USB type cables standardized so you can use one with various brands of phones with the same interface? Is the LG data cable proprietary and only works with the VX9100 EnV2?
Where is a good place to get one cheap?
Help please?

Re: Need Data cable for EnV2 question
The easiest place to get one is from your Verizon Store. They sell the Music Essential's kit for like 20 some dollars. It comes with the Data Cable, The Driver's for the cable, and Sync Software for the phone.
Believe me, it's worth it to spend a few more dollars and make sure your getting the right cable and driver's.You are CRUNCHY, and taste good with Ketchup!!

Re: Need Data cable for EnV2 question
You can get the drivers and the Vcast Software for free from Verizon in an online download. The only issue is the data cable. I can get a cable on Ebay for $3 versus the $20 from Verizon. The only issue that I am sure we would all like to know is if the cable is standardized to all of the same type phones or proprietary since this Micro USB standard seems a bit new to LG cell phones.
Thank you for your response.

Re: Need Data cable for EnV2 question
The cable I got with my Env2 has a label on it that says it also works on the Motorola V8 and V9. Drivers need to be gotten from somewhere.

Re: Need Data cable for EnV2 question
Since 129CBRider bumped an old thread...
The enV2, Dare, Moto V9M, Moto Z6C, GSM Moto V8, Blackberry FlipPearl/8220, all use MICRO USB cables.
You can get generic ones from Newegg -> Newegg.com - Link Depot 3 ft. USB A/male to Micro USB 5 pin male Model MUSB-3 - Cables or -> Newegg.com - Link Depot 6 ft. USB A/male to Micro USB 5 pin male Model MUSB-6 - Cables
Or if you have some USB Mini-B cables already, like used on some digital cameras, portable USB hard drives, some WD MyBook external USB hard drives, Blackberry Pearl/Curve/88xx/87xx and older... The moto Razr V3C/V3M/V3I/V3... Then you can use the Moto SKN6252A USB Mini-B to MicroUSB adapter which is available from T-Mobile stores for $4.99. Ask for Charging Adapter for Moto Razr2 V8. SKU SUPM93367
As for Drivers... well, visit Verizon's page -> VCAST Music with Rhapsody Under STEP 1, click on download the Drivers Only...
Once those DRIVERS are installed, and you have the right cable, you can use Bitpim, sync Music between your phone and Windows Media Player, use some of the other hacking software, etc...
You don't need the Vcast Music with Rhapsody software unless you want to BUY music from Verizon or Real/Rhapsody then load it on your phone.Verizon PHONE Hacking Info & How To's click -> HERE

Re: Need Data cable for EnV2 question
I bought a GE 6-in-1 USB 2.0 Kit with multiple adapters from BJ's for $11.99. The only drawback was that the cord the USB 5-pin Male adapter connects to is a USB type A. MY PC has a USB A connection in the front, but alot of PC's don't.

**Update - This cable will NOT work with the Env2. The 5-pin male connector is too big and won't connect properly.
Bought cable mentioned above from Newegg and it worked perfectly
