Lg Envy text message question...

Hi, Im wondering how you set your Envy to read text messages outloud.

You can't. Env doesn't have a text-to-speech function

When you are at your inbox, in the top left corner it has a blocky face with voice waves. If you press space on the inside qwerty while you are just VIEWING the text message, it should speak the text message for you. I hope it works for ya! :-D

Apparently it does have text to voice capability.

The LG Envy is a little unusual in that it has different menu options with the phone closed and with it open.

To get your LG Envy to read messages out loud as they come in do the following:

- With the phone closed, go to your “Menu”
- Go to “Messaging”
- Go to “Settings”
- Go to “Txt Msg” (Option 2)
- Go to “Auto View” (Option 1)
- Select radio button “On + Readout”

At least this is on my LG Envy version, others may vary.

It took me a while to figure this out. Some how I turned it on and it was very annoying, because when I got a text message it would read out loud automatically. This was not good at work, church, or for messages you don’t want others to hear. I just wanted to make you aware of this before turning it on.

oh thats so cool i never new you could do that.

On the ENV2... if the cover is closed, use the "#" key on the keypad (which also says "Space" so it makes sense) to read a message if you see the blocky face. Don't know if it's the same for the ENV.
