The only way to do this is to
Send yourself the Sound
in My Sounds hit options then send, then send it to yourself, then when you recieve the txt from yourself, hit options save as ringtone. But be aware this counts as a PIX MESSAGE, so if you dont have a plan that includes picture messaging, be advise there will be a charge.

Thanks. What's the point of "My Sounds" then? Just to... store sound effects in case you want to amuse yourself with them some day...?
Wait, wait, wait....Hold your keyboard
Where do I find the MY_RINGERS Folder? I don't have one on my phone SD Card
Its in the phone's file system only (hint: use BitPim). There is no useable My_Ringers on the MicroSD card.
Ring Tones must exist in the phone's memory. There was a hack to use BitPim and re-write a file on some of the past LG phones to get around this, however that hack doesn't work on the newer phones like the Voyager and Dare. Even if it did, the phone would have to keep power to the MicroSD card all the time (so they are available if/when the phone rings) which will drain the battery a little, and they'd be lost as ring tones (and you'd have to re-do the hack) if you remove the MicroSD card. With ammount of memory on the newer phones there is no reason to NOT keep them in the phone's memory.
The "MY_Ringers" folder in the phone's file system for the enV(vx9900) is /brew/16452/lk/mr, on the Dare is /brew/mod/10889/ringtones, on the Voyager is /brew/mod/10889/ringtones, on the Chocolate (vx8500) is /brew/16452/lk/mr
On the Samsung Alias/U740, Juke/U470, Flipshot/U900, "My_Ringers" is /brew/mod/mr.
On the Samsung U620 "my_ringers" is /brew/mod/19920/ringtones

This has not much to do with the topic here, but your post. tell me you're familiar with Bit Pim and Micro SD, so I want to ask a couple of questions.
On e-bay, I ordered a phone cable which came with a CD that had programs on it and one of them was Bit Pim. There must have been some malware on the CD (Or I loaded something not knowing what I was doing) because My laptop was totally messed up - My Microsoft Office programs completely dissapeared and the office executibles that were left opened up non-microsoft programs! But, I did get Bit Pim to work with my phone (although everything else on my laptop was screwed). I finally had to re-install my operating system and programs back on my Hp zv6000 xp pro laptop. I'm not planning on putting that CD back in my laptop! If I downloaded bit pim from the web, would it enable me to order my mp3 Bible files so that the phone would play them in the correct order? I find the Verizion music software doesn't do much of what I would like it to.
I've been looking for info on my LG Env2 phone concerning organizing music files. Using my SD card and usb adapter I have been able to copy the mp3 files of the NLT Bible from my laptop to play on my phone, but I cannot get them to play in the correct order on my phone. (For example, Genesis 1 plays first, then Genesis 10) The Verizion Lg Env2 music program on the phone seems to be ignoring the four digit number prefix to each book and chapter of the Bible that is supposed to keep it in order. Can you point me to information that can help me get my books of the Bible in the right sequence? I don't understand why the phone doesn't use the well-thought-out file naming system used by the mp3 NLT Bible set of CD's which I purchased. If you can point to a source where I can learn more about how to do this -THANK YOU!

The process of putting the "Music" or "MP3" files onto the phone doesn't matter.
The music player on the Verizon phones have a mind of their own. they don't appear to properly use the ID tag inside the MP3 files..
Try re-naming your files.. like "Genesis 1" to "Genesis 01" and "Genesis 2" to Genesis 02" and so on..
I don't really make use of the music player on my PHONE that much... This is because of how the players work compared to a "regular" Mp3 player.

I need to get a Data cable for my phone...lol I need more ringers
Remember.. BitPim works with Bluetooth Serial Port too.. so if your laptop or PC is equipped with built in bluetooth, and supports the correct Profile, you don't really need a cable... But the cable is easier to use and faster.
And if you have an enV2 but can't find inexpensive cables locally.. T-Mobile stores sell the Mini-B to MicroUSB adapters for the Moto Razr2/V8 for $4.99 in the stores. Then you can use any Mini-B Usb cable you might currently have (like for a PSP, Blackberry, external 2.5 inch hardrive, etc)

Thank you very much for your reply. I am assuming I will have to rename the files using my computer, as I see no option in the phone to rename them. I've been creating a playlist on the phone for each book of the Bible as I want to listen to it, as this seems to be the only way to call up specific books without having to scroll through all the files for the entire Bible. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!
I did find a very inexpensive blue tooth dongle by Voice Star sold at Radio Shack on close out that works well to transfer files between my laptop and LG EnV2. And I just purchased a Jawbone II headset on e-bay. I'm very excited to see how it will work.
