Why is LGs interface so backwards and poorly designed?

The LG enV Touch is pretty nice but seriously the interface is just so poorly designed. So many little problems.

1) Unlike a smart design like the iphone the lock button freaking UNLUCKS the bloody phone. What is the point of having a touch screen with a "slide to unlock" interface when an external button can unlock your bloody phone in your pocket! Who thought this would be a good design choice? On the iphone it either A) locks the pohone or B) brings up the "slide to unlock" screen... so even if its pressed in your pocket it doesn't unlock and start pushing buttons.

2) Data transfer. Connecting an iphone to your pc you can see the internal memory! But not with the Env Touch. Why? Who knows. But this means I have to manualy MOVE pictures I want to an SD card and THEN transfer them. It is just ridiculously unnecessary.

3) No way to lock icons in place? So atfer your phone unlcoks in your pcoket due to the most POORLY DESIGNED BUTTON EVER... your icons get messed up because the screen is being pressed in your pocket.

4) What a resistive screen? Why? Capacitive is OBVIOUSLY better and more accurate.

Re: Why is LGs interface so backwards and poorly designed?

This is NOT only VX11K problem...

Normally you can customize UI or add some features through BREW Apps/extensions...
But if you know what BREW is.

Last 8 years BREW handsets have problems and NEVER changed...

So maybe more customer will buy iPhones in future.

You could write own App to lock Touch and disable Keys... BUT you have not *.sig file to install...

In theory BREW is very cool. But in pratice, because not allowed. Restrictions... illegal...

Blablabla...

Accept that future BREW handsets will not be much better.

This is not only LG problem... As also other manufactuer sell BREW handsets...

I think it is more realistic. That apple soon release iPhone with 480 x 800 Pixel Display in 2010.
Instead BREW handset will be more open for independent Developer...

BREW is Qualcomm "invention"...

Means App looks like this:
Code:
*.MIF
*.MOD
*.SIG
Check your handset with BitPim... under brew folder.

BitPim is an Tool:
Welcome to BitPim

Best Regards

Again. It is "easy" to customize this. You could do this self.

Or someone else could do this for you. Via BREW Apps/extensions.

BUT NOT LG make this, or Qualcomm for you. As they do this since many years...

Like your Windows PC. Manufacturer gives you Hardware. Microsoft the OS...

Then you can choose Wallpaper, Tools, Layout, Sound... and which Keys you like to press...

In theory you can do this with your Touch too.

Limitation is only that you NOT authorized to do this.

And to be sure that you not bypass easily. They use *.sig file.
