#16 | | Junior Member | The easiest thing to do is either edit or use a whole song, change the name to ringtone"nameofsong", save it to a microsd card and then it gets loaded when you open up music. Then go to ring tones under my music (my ringtones) and it is there. No need to download programs. I got a 2 gb microsd for 10 bux.......you can get 8gb for about 60 (which I have ordered for videos :-))

Ringtones and my music are two completely different files on the phone. When you open up my music, there is nowhere where it says ringtones.

I just got my voyager yesterday. | If you have bitpim and have a data cable and the drivers installed for it, you don't need to look for anything. Just have bitpim add the ringtones. It will automatically put the ringtones in the proper location.

Free Ringtones from Phonezoo: Create and Download Free Ringtones, Photos, Wallpaper and Games and Myxer - Download Ringtones and More. now phonezoo takes sometime for the ringtones and such to deliever but mixertones is like 5-10 minutes later.

#30 | | Newbie |
The following is how to put ringtones on your LG Voyager VX10000 for free... - Download the latest Test version of BitPim from &package_id=76673"]sourceforge page)
USB: - Install drivers from the Music Essentials Kit or install the VCast Music Manger from here: [?file=VZMM2-DL-LG-Bld41-10000-001.exe"]V CAST Music Manager Download
- Plug the phone in
- Start BitPim - Edit > Settings > Browse. Make sure the 'LGE CDMA USB Serial Port' is the port being used in the com port field.
- Set the phone type to LG-VX10000 - Get Phone Data.
- Go to Filesystem (if you don't have the Filesystem link then View > Show Filesystem), expand it, and navigate to \Brew\16452\lk\mr (or \Brew\10889\ringtones)
- Right click in the mr (or ringtones) folder and select "New"
- Browse to your ringtone and click "ok"
- Restart the phone.
Nothing other than the Filesystem tab will work unless the phone is supported as an option under "phonetype".
Bluetooth: - This is similar to the above but first you must pair the phone and pc and get the Serial BT DIAG profile to connect one time.
- With widcomm drivers you have "My Bluetooth Places" - go there and double click on the icon representing your phone.
- Double click the BT DIAG icon to connect.
- Take note of the com port that this connection uses (right click on the BT DIAG icon to see the port).
- Use this in the com port field in BitPim
- Follow the instructions for USB.
If you have some other Bluetooth drivers the process should be similar.
I tried this method and have several questions:
1. There are only 2 options for the port choice, either auto or LGE CDMA USB Modem #3 and the phone comes back as undetected.
2. When I go to the filesystem view, nothing shows up in the explorer window.
What do I need to do to remedy these issues? | | | |
