#1 | | Newbie | I just bought the VX10000 and have already checked for the latest updates and have tried every button on the darn thing and I can't figure out how to apply my sounds to anything on the phone. I have a "my sounds" folder, and have transfered alot of sounds to it via the memery card. But, when I try to change my TXT sound to something different, the sounds don't show up on the list of available chioces. What's the point of having a "My Sounds" folder if you can't apply a funny or silly sound to be heard at an "off the wall" time. Please help me! This phone is the best phone I have had yet, except for this simple task that is available on the cheapest of phones.

#3 | | Daderator | First off...I don't know of another phone that will allow you to load a ringer via the memory card....including this one.
Get yourself a data cable with the proper drivers for it, and then download bitpim (its a free program off the internet). With these two things, you can load your own ringers, wallpapers, movies, etc straight to your phone and use them how you see fit.

#6 | | Newbie | Hold on Bossdragon! I don't think you read all the question. I want to apply a sound to my phone so when I get a text, the phone makes that sound. I don't think a data cable is going to help.

#8 | | Newbie | Ok, so if you have a messaging plan, which im guess you do if you have a voyager, just put the sounds in the My Sounds folder and then send them to yourself in a Picture message. When you get the message you should have the option to save the sound as a ringtone.
Like BossDragon said you can also use BitPim, to put files directly into your ringtone folder and use them from there. The reason i like the My Sounds folder is because Verizon does not let you send ringtones to your friends, but you can send the files from your My Sounds folder to yourself and others.
Something worth noting is that the files have to be under 500K in order to send them in a message... Hopefully this helps...
