Music Files

I am new ot this, don't even have an ipod or mp3 player but what I wanna know is this: is the only way to get music files onto the phone to buy them?? If I have some songs on my puter, canI add them to my phone. Like i said, I am very new to all this and am basically a dummy when it comes to new gadgets. I just upgraded from a treo 700wx. Help please.

Take a look at this thread. There is a nice set of instructions about how to use the USB mass storage feature. It is the simplest way. You can rip existing CDs using windows media player or whatever and then copy them directly onto your phone using USB. You don't need the synch software or anything special as far as I know. Windows installs the driver automatically when you connect. Just following the instructions.

Thank You ever so much for this info, I want to be able to listen to my phone like an ipod, I even bought the extended battery, one issue there is that t he covers don't fir with the extended battery as it is thicker, guess I can hope eventually one cover will be made to protect thephone while using the extended battery, cause I just love my phone
