I am trying to do it myself, but I get the feeling that you cant because i have been searching for hours and no success story yet.

the 09 firmware resets my browsers phone.

my 07 firmware said "server not responding" and the techs said I needed the update....

so far, the 07 firmware looks alot better, and at least my phone did not restart.

no fix in sight, will call verzion to try to get credited for vcast $15 a month, I mean, what are we paying for anyway?

I thought the voyager had a more advanced HTML browser.... no way. no way
You can't go back from what I understand and if you try, that will void any warranty. You will just have to take the phone into a Verizon store and hope they can fix it. Because once the Firmware is flashed with new settings, the old ones can't be restored. The files that are available online might not even be complete. That is if LGDownload would even recognize them; which it most likely would not. For me I'm not ever going to waste my time with these stupid Firmware updates, because they are scams. But once they do one, you can;t go back.

Re: Voyager's firmware version 9 is available now!

So I just got a Voyager this week through a trade and I see I have the v07 firmware. It's running perfectly. From what I have been reading tonight, it looks like I should just leave it at the v07. Are there people who are happy they upgraded? It seems as though the majority wished they hadn't.

Re: Voyager's firmware version 9 is available now!

I did do the upgrade for my Voyager. It won't be my Voyager for much longer. I discovered a bug. Using the browser, certain websites will now cause the phone to crash. Working with Verizon which talked with LG while I was on the phone (LG created to new software), LG acknowledged that the new software reallocates some of the memory away from the browser. I use Comcast's mobile web site, for example, quite often. After going into my email while there, if I try to maneuver anywhere else on the website, the entire phone crashes.

Verizon had me try a different unit, as well as one of the new Tungsten Voyagers. Same problem. Moreover, they don't have the older software/firmware anymore.

The newer software, aside from the RAM issue, is slicker, with more sensitive touch to the touchscreen, and a couple of other small, but nice features. The phone crashing, however, makes it now unacceptable to me. Verizon has decided to offer me full credit on the Voyager toward a DARE. I prefer the true QWERTY of the Voyager, but getting to Comcast's site is important to me.

The next step for Voyager and LG, they said, is to work with the developer of Comcast's site to try to work out issues that make the current Voyager incompatible with the mobile Comcast website. I'm guessing that eventually other users will encounter other sites that cause the same problem.
