As tavenger5 wrote, you'll need to switch the phone to your own plan and you can't do this by yourself. You'll need to contact Verizon Wireless (800-922-0204) on a phone that works and tell them what you want to do and they will walk you through the steps. Make sure you have the
LG Voyager with you when you call them because they will need for you to provide some information from it.
