Hi APeX3181,
I've been using firmware v.11 from the beginning and I haven't had restart problems. The same is true for my wife's LG Voyager. I'm aware of two things that can cause a LG Voyager to restart and neither of them are related to firmware.
1 - The phone is defective and/or the battery is going bad. These are hardware issues.
2 - The browser's cache does not have enough available free browser memory to view a webpage that requires a lot of memory. One of the biggest offenders of this is the YouTube website. You frequently need to clear your browser's memory before you view YouTube or there won't be enough browser memory and the browser will crash causing the LG Voyager to restart.
I've never liked the browser in the LG Voyager and updating the firmware won't make it any better. The browser application, itself, needs to be updated and LG/Verizon seldom provide these kinds of updates. Typically, you have to buy a newer phone model to get a newer version of the browser used in LG phones.
It think it's stupid that the browser can't use available memory from the microSD card. But the same deficiency exists for most of the other applications---the calender and contacts list can't use external memory either so if you fill your calender or contacts with too many entries, they will stop accepting new ones and you'll have to go back and clear old ones to make room in the internal memory that is allocated to them.
The only applications that can use the external memory are the music player, camera and sound recorder.
But, again, none of this involves the firmware.
Finally, I strongly recommend that LG Voyager owners who like to store songs, photos, videos and audio recordings on their phone get a microSD memory card for this purpose. You'll need to configure your LG Voyager to store these files there (it is simple to do from the menu). The reason this is important is so you don't fill up the Voyager's internal memory. If you do, then the LG Voyager can become unstable. Memory cards are cheap so there's not much reason not to use one. I think SanDisk are the best.
