Voice Mail Notification, though I just deleted them all?

My LG Voyager has been a good phone for the year I've owned it. It was dated when I bought it, imo, and now it feels like a dinosaur. Plus, the buttons are loud and it makes me feel like I'm using a clunky old typewriter. So, soon I'll upgrade. Anyhoo....

my phone started doing this thing where I'll get a notification for a voice mail. Then I check the message and delete it and disconnect the call. Same as always. Now, it gives me a notification two seconds after I just deleted all the messages and hung up. The trick is I have to delete the messages, then, listen to the prompts again, and fully exit the voicemail system. This seems to work.

Has this happened to anyone, and is there a quick fix? Thanks!

Re: Voice Mail Notification, though I just deleted them all?

While i'm not on Verizon, I have had this happen to me several times. I don't know what it is, but sometimes if I listen to the message right after its left, it seems to do this, and I even call back and listen to the system tell me I have no messages, and it stays there. I wish I could tell you what caused this, but I don't know really. My only susgestion, is try calling a CSR or taking it to a Verizon to see if a Tech can see if its just your phone and number, or if its something esle.

Wish I could have helped more!

Re: Voice Mail Notification, though I just deleted them all?

Thanks. I may need to do that, since my phone has recently added an even funkier behavior to the mix -- I got off the phone with my mom, and my phone 'called me' from this phone number: ;86 --mind you, no one was there. Weird.

I want to upgrade to the Ozone anyway, but I want to figure out what's up with my phone first.

Any ideas what could be the issue here? Thanks guys!

The ;86 sounds like it is the Voice Mail system indicator.
I would try reloading or flashing the OS/Firmware. Sounds like it is going out. Hopefully that'll help.

Re: Voice Mail Notification, though I just deleted them all?

Hi genie4today,

"86" is the Voice Mail speed-dial number. So the blank message from ";86" is definitely related to it.

Before you assume that your phone is bad, I'd check with your local Verizon Wireless office and ask them if other customers in your area are reporting similar problems. It may have nothing to do with your phone but it could be a Voice Mail system problem at their end.

Best regards, WiredNot
