Phone not charging and warrenty

I got this phone a long time ago for a 2 year contract. I'm tired of its random reboots, freezes, bad battery life even after disabling envo, bluetooth, latest firmware v12 and the list goes on.

But as of today the phone does not take a charge. I also had a spare battery and put it in and still a no go. I also tried the car charger and its the same not giving it a charge... It seems like the charge port on the actual phone is bad.

Now what do you guys recommend because I need to remedy this ASAP becuase well I need a phone and once the phone is discharged Im screwed.

I purchased this phone with no insurance and am eligible for an upgrade 5/15/10 and the contract ends 9/15/10. I am currently on someone elses bill and worst case is worse I would like to get my own plan under my name.

Now what are my options?

I was thinking to call up Verizon and pay for a warranty..then the next day go to a Verizon store and see if they give me a replacement phone or the touch...


I need help ASAP to get an idea what to do in my situation. Thanks

I've had the same exact problem - my charge port seemed to have been completely obliterated but the phone itself was still entirely functional before the battery died. Plugging in never made it charge/never made the screen change to charging mode.

One idea I had was to get another phone, without service, that uses the same exact battery and use that to charge your battery and switch it in, but I don't know how feasible (cost-wise) of an idea that, or if there are any other phones that use the same battery.

I personally still haven't done anything about mine and it's been about a week without a phone.

I just went to a verizon store and "stole" another upgrade from someone else on the plan and got a enV Touch..Love that phone so far. And when I'm eligible for an upgrade they can use my upgrade to upgrade their phone...Was a very simple solution
