Whenever the vx6000 is in my pocket the damn thing switches to vibrate (manner mode) or silence all. this is a big problem. Short of ripping the button out, is there an easy way of protecting this? I've tried the lock phone feature but it doesn't help. Thanks a lot.

nope, that just changes the mode from normal to vibrate to slient, then back again.
As far as I can tell there's no way to prevent that side button from operating when the phone's in your pocket (folded). Pretty lame if you as me...

I had the same problem, my wife said I did it to avoid calls
WRONG...anyway I went to Verizon rep, his advice don't keep phone in same pocket with anything else, no keys, coins ect
several weeks and no problems., I use to have a daily problem
with it anyway this works for me......

Hold down # it locks the phone but i think that just keeps you from going in menus cause i can still change to manner mode with it locked. How can the keys get hit if its a flip phone and the top is closed.

you could get a belt holster and put it on your belt or pocket or something. thats what i do with my phone, and nothing ever gets pushed.
