Ok I'm not really sure what is going on for my phone. But I went on vaca to FL last week and on one of the last days I was there I looked at my phone and it said -Car Kit- and it was making no noise what so ever-it wouldn't ring, no alerts, and no noise when I pushed buttons. Well I thought maybe it was just something that happened cause I was in roam. But now I'm back home and it is still saying that and making no noise. If I turn it off for a whole night, its usually ok when I turn it on the next morning, but then a few hours later it does it again! Does anyone know what in the worl -Car Kit- means? Or what to do about it? I have a LG VX600 btw. I'm just trying to save a trip to the Verizon store, so thanks for any help!

wel i came here looking fro kind of the sam answer -
my LG VX 4400 did teh samething - i called verizon and they said that it was a problem in the programming of the cell phone and asked me if i go tit wet - wel i didnt but i have to take it to the store and its stil under the 1 year warrentee and i am amfraid they are going to try to find a way to blame it on me - it wasnt dropped in any water but they said something about the battery being pink when there is water damage and a white circle on the bottom of the battery has pink stars on it and i dont remember if it always looked like that or not and i think all the wet weather here in NJ humidity may have caused it to change if it did but it was never dropped in water it stays in my car all the time unless i go in a mall or something and then its in my purse .
so i have to go to the verizon store this am and i am worried about the worse case scenario i cannot afford to pay full price for a new one.

its something with the programming or something -they had to replace my phone for me.

We had this problem with our 4400, all we had to do was plug the car charger end in the phone and it disappeared, the charger was not plugged into the car either, just plug it in your phone and voila, hope this helps

Re: Car Kit?!? Help!
I'm so excited!!!! You guys just saved me a trip to the Verizon store. I had the 'car kit' show up on my phone and I had just made a phone call on it and shut it, opened it for another call and there it was. I called the Verizon number, was told to check the dot on the back. Yes, thank you I see stars!!! Now it could be a software problem. I'm going on vacation. I don't have time for this. My phone has EVERYTHING on it and I give that number to everyone!!!! Thanks for the tip on the car charger. The home charger didn't do anything, but the car charger fixed it (so far anyways) :-) Whew, I too can not afford a new full priced phone when I only have 4 1/2 months left on the new every 2 policy........
