The phone got stuck in the pipes for about a ay or two until i got it out. The i took it apart and dried it off with a hair dryer. I put it back together and let the battrery charge. it turns on now and the screen and everyting works fine. The only problem is it gets no service at all now. An ideas on why and how to fix this?

    Hey Bright eye'd,
The poor guy doesn't need any smart a$$ remarks we all know not to get them wet. How about offering some constructive advice?

i had a customer put his phone through the washer 3 TIMES! the phone worked fine after a couple days of drying completely out but there was still a little water that was trapped in the external display.

i would give you phone another day or two to dry out. set it under a lamp or something. if that doesn't work im not sure what to tell you other than you'll obviously need to buy a new phone.

    later.
    Can you hear me now?

Peter: No, I'm just exhausted 'cause I've been up all night drinking.

    welcome to cpf!

i have a suggestion...why not try starting your own thread about whatever it is you're wanting to know!

you'll probably find more responses when you're not 'piggy-backing' on someone else's thread.

if you have any other questions, check out the FAQ section.

PLEASE, don't make another "My phone got wet" thread because there's alot of those... trust me.
Try the search button... it helps!!

I just searched the word "WET" in the advanced search and I searched title only and here's what I found; http://cellphoneforums.net/search.php?searchid=783640

Take the battery out of the phone & set the phone next to a hair dryer. Set the thing on hot & leave it there for 30 to 45 minutes.... then turn it down to medium. Leave it there for an hour. Then just leave it be for 8 to 9 hours.... put the battery back in & you should be okay.

They already dried it out with a hair dryer and also it was like a week ago since it happened so I'm guessing it is as dry as it will get. As for fixing your problem, I'm pretty sure the phone is gone or atleast enough to not be able to make/receive calls, so you most likely will need to replace it. If you do have insurance, then you should just need to pay a deductible to get a new one. If you don't have insurance then you'll need to pay full price for a new one, or just go on Ebay and check around.
