I have three new things in my life: A new LG-VX7000, a new VX7000 car charger cord (from Verizon with their logo) that plugs into the utility outlet (cigarette lighter,) and a new Honda CR-V.

Plug in the charger (with our without the phone) and the fuse blows.

Verizon checked the charger and says it's fine. I saw them plug it into a test socket hooked to a transformer in the back of the store. It worked.

The charger works in my wife's Dodge Caravan, no problem. We used it on an extended trip across country.

Honda serviced the car and today reported back to me that the charger blows the fuse EVERY TIME but other cellphone chargers work.

    Anyone else seen this problem?

    Thanks!

Replaced the VX7000 charger. The old one still tests fine (at the Verizon shop) but there's something wrong with it only the Honda knows. New charger works allright.

Re: VX7000 - Car Charger Blows Fuse EVERY time

I had the same problem. It is the charger in the Honda CRV socket. I went to AutoZone and purchased a 10 ft extension cord for the charger, model number 39003-8, Bell Automotive. I plug the existing charger into the extension and no problem... so far. Difference in plugs I guess. The fix cost $7.99. Easier that disassembling the charger and cutting off the leads that short out the fuse in that socket.
