getting GPS data from lgvx6000?

is there anyway to get the gps data that would be used for a 911 call or whatever else if you have gps turned on? i've got the cable and have played around a little with the filesystem and whatever but have no idea how to get gps data.

i was interested in either getting gps data off the phone via the screen, and / or being able to hook it up to a computer and get over the cable...

I don't see any way you can retrieve gps info for your own purposes... it's primarily for others to locate you either via 911, others if you purchase the service, or to locate a lost or stolen cellphone. You wish to use this information to pinpoint your location as you would with a typical GPS device right? Nope, it doesn't contain that part of the technology within the phone itself.
