I need a booster or an antenna. I don't get any signal at my home but down the road is okay. What can I get to make the phone work at my house? Thanks

Has the phone worked at in your house before?
If it has, then I would call Verizon and tell ask them to issue a trouble ticket for your tower that serves your neighborhood. Make sure to get the trouble ticket number.
I hope this helps.America's Choice Family SharePlan (2 lines):

No the phone has not worked here before. I live just out of town and thought an antanna or booster would work. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and what did they use.

Trees will usually blocked your phone from signals coming from your nearest tower, try Gamer's recommendation and see what they tell you..
Do not waste your money on a so called antenna booster aka-sticker, that's all it is, a sticker.

You might be screwed. With a fully digital phone, there are just some places that the phone is not going to work in.
Sounds like you need or needed to get a tri-mode phone so you could still use the old analog system. That's what I ended up having to do because of the same thing - that is I live out of town, and the digital reception is basically none exect for a few spotty area's on my property.

analog (amps) has come to the point where it's not even usable in some places anymore, it takes forever for your phone to connect, you get static, and it will drain your battery alot faster, try a friend's phone in your house and see if that one works, if not you may need to move on to a carrier that will do the job in your home.

I switch to analog about 5 + times a day. It does drain your battery a lot faster, but as for static, or taking a long time to connect, that's totally not the case, or at least it's not for me where I live.

i agree, you are correct and i am wrong...
network capacity will never affect your analog signal...

I got the Wilson trucker antenna and That seems to help. I can get a signal now. If I start getting dropped calls I will get a 3 amp booster. As for now I think I'm okay.

I made a bracket and mounted it on the edge of the roof. So far I added at least 2 bars on the signal. Have not lost a call yet. I thought I would need to add a 3 amp booster but now I don't think so. It works fine.

Hi Maccandy,
did you try a signal booster? A friend of mine did and he says it works. He got one from a company called Wireless Extenders.

What's the price on these boosters?

I did not try the booster. I got the Wilson Trucker Antenna and it works fine. I don't need the booster. The 3 amp booster runs about $200.00.

Booster from Wirless Extenders cost $299 retail. You can buy from http://www.wirelessextenders.com or Fry's Electronics. There are others from other company but they cost more.
Maccandy,
Do you have your cell phone connected directly to the Wilson antenna? If so, that will be the only way it will work. Unfortunately, you will be stationary with that attachment. With a booster or repeater, you can move around inside your home.
