LG VX4500 display question

This may seem a bit retarded, but here goes... I have an LG VX4500 and I've been trying to figure out if there's ANY way to get rid of "Verizon Wireless" that's always written across the screen. It's always under the line where a banner would be, so it doesn't get erased by deleting the banner. It may not seem like a big deal to the average person, but it annoys me to an extreme extent! So, I'd appreciate any help I can get! Thanks.

I've asked this question ALL over the net, someone finally replied to me on one forum and said:

"That is actually the Enhanced Roam Indicator. It tells you what network you're in, Verizon Wireless, Extended Network or Roaming. If you've updated your roaming within the last year or so, it appeared and cannot be removed. Sorry. It's not just for the VX4500. Its for all models of phones available now."

I think I'm going to need to get a new phone...

Mine was a new phone--ordered it online. As soon as I turned it on...there it was.

It wouldn't be so bad if it was at the top or bottom. It's right smack in the middle of the screen--makes it ugly.
