Hey, I have a Verizon phone that has text/picture messaging capabilities and I am trying to upload ringtones to it. I've tried 2 methods:
The Wal Mart Method, where I download a 30 second clip onto my hard drive and e-mail the .mp3 as an attachment to my cell phone
And the Audio Editor Pro method where I do basically the same thing, except I rip the file myself ...
The problem is that with both methods I am unable to get a decent sound...it just sounds really distorted and such.
Note that I want to upload "Real Tones"...
Has anyone else experienced this, and has anyone got a solution? Thanks.

How can you tell what ringer formats are valid for your phone? I've got a LG VX4650.
Also do you email it to your phone... and then do a Save Object? How does it get from there to the Ringer selection menu?

You may want to try a data cable made for your phone. The cables tend to work better. Besides, you can save your contact list (phone numbers) in case something goes wrong with your phone or if it's lost or stolen.

i had that problem for awile turnes out some songs with alot of bass will distort the sound from the phone. try a program that will normalize the sound a bit. i use sound forge and keep it around -2.3 that seems to work the best for me and the loudest. i also encode them with 32-46kbps 22k 16bit mono

i have the lg8000 and have the data cable. I was able to use mp3's from my music file on my pC and upload them to my phone. The quality of the mp3's on my phone are extremely good, actually didnt even notice the difference
