I have the vx6100 and email myself ringtones and pics...I can tell you what to do with one disclaimer...sometimes it works for me sometimes it doesnt, I am not sure if its the size of the file or what but I have emailed myself midi files and jpgs and sometimes i hear/see the attachment sometimes I dont...anyway this is what I do...

    1) figure out your cell phones email address ([email protected])
    2) go to your personal email address compose a new message
    3) Enter your cell email addy and attach the file like you would normally sending out any attachment to a friend or at work.
    4) Send it
    5) Your cell whould receive it rather quickly depending on reception as a new message received
    6) go into your inbox on your phone and open the message
    7) If its a ringtone it should play when you open the message, if its a picture then you can scroll down and see the image.
    8) There is an option button bottom right when you are in the message
    9) There you can chose to save the picture or music file
    10) it gives you the oprion to rename it
    11) the file is then available in sounds or images for you to view, set as wall paper or set as ring tone..

Hope this helps and Like I said for some reason sometimes it works for me sometimes it doesnt...

alright i have it sent to my cell phone. the problem is i cant save it because it is too large . it says it has to be less than 30kb but the song file is 180kb. I would assume it was the right size from the start because i got it from this thread: http://cellphoneforums.net/t184878.html and clicked the link to the songtones he already made.. do i have to crop the song even more or compress it? or what do i do now?

depends on how much you want to use it.....0.25 is not bad for occasional use...the usb and software can run you about $30.00 or so, if you are heavy user and want to download and print that many pics..then i would suggest the usb as well...

Get the USB cable. The software (BitPim, QPST etc. is free.)

You can do a lot more than just upload/download tones and pictures.

No limits (that I've encountered and I have a 650KB ringtone or two...) when loading the files on your phone.

Especially when you upload video, you're going to want to bust through the normal limits of the phone via e-mail.

And when you don't have the cable, or just want to share a tone, you can always e-mail it for a quarter!
