HELP, Please!?! My phone needs to be unlocked.

I have a cell phone plan with AT&T Wireless. Even though they have switched to Cingular I have stayed with AT&T because of the prices on the Cingular plans are not as economic as AT&T. I accidently destroyed my phone. I got a friend of mine to loan me his old Cingular phone. The people at the Cingular store said that my SIM card will work in this phone, yet when I turn the phone on it says "Phone restricted." How do I unlock this phone?
PLEASE HELP ME!!
P.S. It's an AT&T Wireless Go Phone, but the people at Cingular say it doesn't make any difference....please help!

You have to take in in for service to make those changes.

If it's your phone, there will be no problem.

If it's not, don't bother going to the service center.

I took it to a cingular store and was told that have no way of unlocking it. I was told by a cingular agent to go online and search for the codes to unlock that model of phone.

Any other suggestions? If not then how can I get a phone that will work with my AT&T wireless SIMS card since they no longer make AT&T wireless specific cell phones?

if it's lg c1300, you're pretty much out of luck. it requires, from what i've found, a cable and software unlock. no code that i know will unlock it.

if you're feeling lucky, try doing a remote unlock. i've posted a site that claims to be able to do it before. try searching the lg forum.

M phone receives but I can't send (locked). To reset settings need security code. Currently with 3.it (of Italy)

Like Nic said, it will need a data cable and certain unlocking software. I have 2 stores, both unlock this phone. One is inside of a local mall. I suggest trying to go into a retailer that isn't just a Cingular store, which you most likely can find inside of one of your local malls. Maybe you can look in the yellow pages and find an ad that stats if that particular store can unlock phones.
