I just recieved my data cable today and since then I have been trying to get it to work. I downloaded the drivers (?) from the link on the package, but it does not seem to be working. The directions on the website it gave me were unclear. I've also been looking on this website, and downloaded BitPim. But I am still having trouble getting my computer to recognize the phone. Can anybody give me clear instructions on how to make this work? Thank you!

Oh I have a LG VX5200. The BitPim program does not detect my phone. I downloaded the drivers off the website I was given.

Did you install the drivers first and then hook up your phone to it. Also try rebooting your phone and then starting Bitpim. One more thing lol. Are your drivers seen in windows. If they are check and see what com port it is using because you have to set that in bitpim.

Make sure your phone is set to the proper pc connection under "Settings & Tools" - "PC Connection" - "USB".
If BitPim still doesn't work, I have the 5200 and found this program works GREAT

I changed the setting on my phone, and downloaded both of those programs, but whenever I put my phone into the USB cable it turns off and wont turn back on until i plug it into my charger. And whe I plug the phone into my computer, it says there is a Power surge on the hub port.. ? ... I can't find the drive anywhere on my computer. Should I just give up lol.

Almost sounds like a cable problem or cable driver problem. Mine works like a charm.
