Help downloading mp3 ringtones to a lg c2000

Does anybody know what type of software I need so I can download my mp3 ringtones from my computer to my phone. Or can I email my ringtone to my phone. Is there a special program I need so I can convert my mp3 ringtones to work on my phone. For the mp3 ringtone to work on my phone, what is the bit rate I need so it will work. Please help if you can. Thank You
