Well, the 9800 is all I need so I'm cool

Gonna order it now so we'll see how this works out for me.

Ordering it from Letstalk.com with a rebate so it turns out to be free. Let's see how that works out.

I'll also need some advice on a good bluetooth headset Bluetooth Headset for the VX9800?

Thanks again

George

Re: LG vx9800 Guide

here are some opinions

HowardForums: Your Mobile Phone Community & Resource - Which Bluetooth Headset is best for VX9800?

i started you somewhat into the thread because it is more up to date.

i found that i didnt like any and i must have tried 5 or 6. because i used the phone for a lot of media like mp3's and video's i preferd the stereo wired headset like the Jabra c120s.

my new phone supports bluetooth stereo headsets and i tried 2 of them and still went back to the jabra's

ooh i wanted to add that i found all of them to give off some kind of echo to the person i was talking to except when on a low volume setting and then i couldnt hear them in all situations.

Brother Fletch

I now have the 9800 and I would very much like to know how and IF I can make the fonts bigger.

My eyes are going very bad and I can't read the screen without glasses. These are glasses I don't normally wear so you see the problem.

If this is possible, please explain as if I were 5 years, otherwise I won't get it.

I also have a Nokia BH-200

Am I supposed to be able to place VOICE DIAL calls directly from the headset WITHOUT having to touch the phone? Do you know this?

Thanks

George

Re: LG vx9800 Guide

Not to worry and thanks for the directions.

I don't see much if any difference in the fonts. The fonts on the main screen are ok but on the front, they're too damn small for me. Anything I can change or hack there?

If not, I guess I have to learn real quick how to do all this with voice commands

Thanks

George

no and it is a shame with all that memory to spare.

you can set up your text inbox to delete the oldest message as new ones come in. this is the only way i was able to not have to constantly be deleting messages. it works great but it would be nice to have more.

1. open phone and hit ok
2. go to messaging and hit the left soft key for settings
3. click one for all messages
4. click on 2 for auto erase and turn it on

that makes life a lot easier if you text a lot

Re: LG vx9800 Guide

Just thought I would throw this in. You can now use 2GB sticks. I have one in my vx9800 and it is working great. Just goto a Verizon store and have them update the software to the latest on your phone.

Later.

just thought i would throw in that if it were me and i had V1 or V2 then i would NOT ugrade to V5 for any reason. there are a lot of bugs in V5 firmware and i would wait until they come out with a new version and others have tested it first.

just my 2 cents

Re: LG vx9800 Guide

If its a desktop, its bluetooth enabled if you have a little "dongle" stuck in one of the USB ports that says "Bluetooth" on it, plus somewhere on your task bar and control panel you may see evidence of Bluetooth software installed. If its a recent laptop, it likely has Bluetooth on it unless you cheaped out and got the Walmart laptop or something. (Dongles are bad for laptop use because they stick out and are likely to be snagged on something and ripped out, hence the added importance of a laptop just having it built in.)

$20 will get you a dongle if you don't have one.

Re: LG vx9800 Guide

I appreciate the info.
I've used a WAP proxy address that gives me free internet access, but on this phone, when I enter in the numerical address, it only says "HTTP Error: 403 Access Denied"
Any idea why that is or how to fix it?
Thanks
