Hey, i'm new to cell phones and this forum, and i've read the vx9800 faq but didn't really understand it too well. As a result, i couldn't tell if my problem was being responded to, but i'll shoot anyway. I purchased the vx9800 yesturday along with a minisd flash card and a mobile card reader/writer for my computer. I asked the customer service rep and he said that was all i would need to transfer music from my computer to the phone. However, i've been trying for a couple hours to accomplish this, and i've been able to write music onto the card. furthermore, when i tell my phone to play songs it says my card has no mp3's on it (all the songs i put on the card were mp3's, im sure of it). I have windows xp, v2, and the card reader/writer properly installed on my system. However, the minisd card didnt come with any directions so I am not sure how to program it (or even if i need to).

Is there anything else i need to buy?
would it work with this current setup?
    am i just completely stupid?

    thanks for reading my post

sorry about this... i did alittle more searching and realized i had to initiate a power cycle in order to make the mp3s play... thanks anyways!

Did you put the minisd in your phone first to create the directories? Did you place your Mp3's in the correct folder? Do you have Vcast music? If so your phone isn't able to play mp3 unless you go into service menu and turn that option on. Look around I have found everything I needed to know about this phone from this site and others.

I would try a formatting the card (backup!) and then powercycling your phone with the card in it. Should be some folders to place your music in to allow the phone to recongize it.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see the very last portion of your post. Enjoy
