LG-MA-8032P:USB Data Suite and Data Cable for LG AX5000

It is my understanding, after reading posts on this site, that the data cable which I have already ordered and paid for (though I have not received it yet, and I had not read the post until after the order was made) {LG-MA-8032P: USB Data Suite and Data Cable for LG AX5000} is not the correct data cable for the phone listed above, though the site (factorydirectcellular.com) lists it as the correct data cable. The post is from some time ago, and I am curious as to whether the problem has been corrected or not. Is anyone able to give me information relative to this?

I wish to ask everyone that happens upon this thread in the wrong location to forgive me. I am completely new to this site (even more when I left the post than now), and I did not actually understand how and where to leave a post. The fact that I was "threading" (leaving a thread) here was quite exhilirating (yes, I am that backward!) that I posted, even though I knew that I may not be doing it just the way that it should be done. I end this reply by asking once again for your forgiveness.

I have this same exact product and phone, and it doesn't work. When I plug my phone into the computer, my computer senses that it's connected. The charger works for the phone, but the handset manager just won't connect. It keeps saying "Trying to connect to the handset" or something like that. I'm frustrated because I was really looking forward to changing my ring-tone and whatnot, and I payed $30 for it. Can someone please help me? I'm wondering if there's a way to make it work.
