#1 | | Newbie | Does anyone know for sure if the VX8300 will work with a 2GB mini SD card? I called LG themselves and they said they are unsure, other models only work with 1GB. Thanks in advance!

the 2GB willnot let you add more than 980MB and work - it'll give a read error on any file added after 980MB

#8 | | Junior Member | MORE INFO:
I called tech support and sure enough the 2GB chip is seen as a 1GB chip so the vx8300 can't see the chip's full storage capability.
They are supposed to call me back within two days to let me know when the firmware update is coming out - the phone was manufactured before the 2GB and beyond chips were available and LG just didn't think anyone would be getting bigger than 1GB
silly LG - if they sell a 64GB chip I'll buy one of those and stuff within a month. - you can never have enough storage space and deleting files is not an option I ever want to think about.

#9 | | Junior Member | Update:
Tech support called back and none of the new phones can access the 2GB chip capability.
In other words Crap!! I spent and extra $50.00 for nothing and I'm annoyed.

#11 | | Junior Member | I Have The Lg 8300 And I Put The 2gb Card In And Tried To Format It And It Did Not Format It Kept Saying Failed And Rebooting The Phone. Then I Put It In My Computer And Formatted It And Loaded On A Couple Pics And When I Went To The My Pics App In The Phone It Would Not Load And Again Rebooted The Phone. So I Just Went Back To The 1gb Which Is Big Enough But I Occassionally Like To Go With The More Is Better. Kinda Stinks!

#14 | | I hate spammers! | The only phone that will support the 2GB card right now is the Chocolate. As bossdragon said, as new phones are released, more will support the larger capacity cards. I expect the 9900 to support 2GB, and future versions of the 8300 as well.
