Battery Life

How long do you think the battery last till it stops charging or looses it's storage capabilities?

To keep from killing it prematurely, your battery will last a lot longer if you keep it charged. Assuming it is a Lithium based battery, it is very important to keep it charged above a certain point. (also not to over charge it either, but your phone has automatic shutoff on the charger to prevent overcharging) If your battery voltage drops below a point, it will kill your battery. (even leaving a discharged battery on a shelf for a year might kill it as it does loose charge over time) My point, i charge my phones every night, but my other half likes to let hers discharge for days, until the phone dies, to my dismay. Her old phone's first battery died about 6 months into the phone and i was forking out more $$ to buy a new one. My old phone's battery has been going strong for almost 3 years. (although, it's starting to show it's age)

Take a look at the wikipedia article on li-po batteries. They quote an average of 500 discharge cycles, but i don't believe it. I bet it's higher for these newer li-po batteries.

Temperature does, but only for the hot side. The hotter the battery gets, the shorter the battery life. especially when the heat is caused by discharging. This is because it cooks it from the inside out, for example with electric model aircraft/vehicles which use motors that have a high current draw, and therefore have a large load on the battery. If you've ever had a remote control car, the motor and battery can even burn you it get so hot. For cell phones however, I wouldn't recommend leaving it in your car if ambient temp gets over 90F just to promote longer battery life. However, there's no need to refrigerate your spares either.

Re: Battery Life

its just a lil bit heavier...i cant really tell unless holding two phones next to each other. IT does stick out some...id say double
makes phone borderline too big...as if its not big enough already
but i still prefer it over the vx8300
(i like reading my text messages from the outside)
