Hey I am getting my 9800 tomorrow and know about the site with the $12 a month internet proxy. I was wondering if while on the internet and using this proxy do i still get charged for just regular data on the internet? For instance a picture on a web site loading. I know it takes airtime minutes which is no big deal and I will use it at night mostly anyway. Thanks for your help.

    Re: vx9800. free internet?

Why can no one seem to answer this question?? I asked the guy with the hopke internet proxy and he said no but seemed kinda dodgy about it. I asked 2 customer support reps and one said no, never because its not a pda and data charges only occur with pdas. and the other said yes because i am not using mobile web for $5 a month, even though im pretty sure that hopke's proxy is the same damn thing only cheaper. I desperately need someone to give me a straight answer on this question. my kb counter is already at 4580 and i have only had the phone for a day. I really hope all that kb isnt going to total out to ahuge bill. Thanks all

I can not for the life of me figure out why this is such a hard question to answer? To those of you with standard vzw plans who have wap 2.0 on your phone, when you use wap and things like pics, txt, etc gets displayed on your screen and your kb counter goes up, do you get charged for the kb on your bill? Please help me...

No, I am fairly certain that you will only be charged airtime minutes.

What I think is that three people already answered your question correctly.

You are only charged mins on your plan, and if it is a night or weekend, then it still uses minutes, but you get "unlimited" number of night/weekend minutes.

ok im sorry i know this is an old thread, but i have a relating question about this whole internet plan and what exactly is charged...on one of my first verizon bills, i had to pay like 70 dollers extra cause i had used "internet airtime" so is this supposed to be free during night minutes? do the internet minutes you use add up with talking minutes? if a get it now game uses airtime, is it always charged more money? is it free at night? whats the whole deal? im obviously new to verizon, and new to cell phones as well so sorry if i sound too uninformed :|

Hmm I dont know what that's about. Web browsing/airtime gmaes should be taking up the same minutes as your talking plan. So free/nights and weekends should apply. That seems odd that you got an extra charge like that if you didnt go over your regular minutes.

so no matter how much date is use, download, send, it wont cost extra on the verizon $5/month nor the wap $12/year? the only thing that could be charged is if i go over my minutes allowance? and if i use inthernet after 9pm and weekends, there is no chance of anything beign charged unless i buy something?
