    Pease reply asap.

A guy in my town has a Verizon LG-VX9800 for sale, no charger, nothing comes with it except the phone. The Verizon account of whitch the phone was under has not yet been turned off so I dont think I can use his SIM card right? and if I dont have a sim card is this phone worthless to me? I mean can I some how buy a sim card or some how use his sim card even though his account is still active? For some reason im thinking this guy found this phone or stole it because he doesnt know much about it. Can I still use it?

The guy wants $40 for the phone but it does look thrashed on, he says it funtions properly..

Here are the pictures, please let me know if I should buy it for $40 bucks..

Verizon phones don't use a SIM, they are activated by the phone's ESN, electronic serial number. You won't be able to use that phone until he pays his final bill and the early termination fee if it applies. If it's been reported lost or stolen, it will never be usable because the ESN is blacklisted.

That's it. If the phone is lost, stolen, or has an unpaid bill attached to it, there is no way to use it. Ask him if you can hold it for a minute, write down the ESN number from under the battery, call Verizon and ask them if the ESN is clear for activation. They will confirm this for you.

I wouldn't buy it anyway, it looks trashed! Looks like it has been through the war, or recovered from Ground Zero in New York City. Save your money. If he doesn't know much about it or have any accesories, especially the charger, he either stole it or found it somewhere.
