LG VX8100 Data cable

I have a data cable and use bitpim. I have never had any troubles in the past when it came to putting ringers on my phone, but for some reason now bitpim doesn't recognize my phone on the same usb port that it has always used. What steps should I take to fix this problem?

Uninstall bitpim and reinstall the latest version. That should fix the problem.
