Dear Customer,
Thank you for your e-mail.
LG will support only 1GB because our phones are only designed to work efficiently with a 1GB memory card. Any higher capacity card runs the risk of not all the data being accessible even if the 2GB card is accepted.
Although the 2GB card is accepted, only a certain amount of the 2GB data will be readily accessible and we can not help you if you have a higher capacity card than recommended. That is just a part of the phone's design specifications. The number of songs that a memory card will hold it determines on the file size.
I apologize for the inconvenience but if we can further assist you please contact us at 800-793-8896.
Thank you again for inquiring to LG.

Re: Weird response from customer service LG
I guess I don't see anything weird about it. They are actually being very straight forward with you.
Even though your model phone may be able to handle a 2 Gig card, they are saying the phone was designed to only work well with a 1 Gig.
Pretty smart actually. Advertise that the phone will work with a 2 gig card, and then when you have problems accessing all of the 2 gig, CS says, "well, yes, the phone will accept a 2 gig, but may not be able to access it all."
They aren't lying about it as the phone will recognize the 2 gig.
