you might have the updated modified version of the vx9800 phone. they modified the music player. old versions ad the mp3 player. new kind of don't have it but it really does. you have to change it.
Now to fix that problem

step 1 - turn on phone and put mini sd card in phone
step 2 - flip open phone
step 3 - press ok
step 4 - press 0(zero) then a service code will appear
step 5 - type in all zeros
step 6 - scroll down to music settings and hit ok
step 7 - it will show you that you are either in one of the 4 selections none, mp3 only, MOD only, and mp3 and MOD.
step 8 - please select mp3 only or mp3 & MOD
step 9 - then exit out to main screen
step 10 - then press ok again and go to system
step 11 - then go to manage memory
step 12 - select card memory
step 13 - then press right soft key(options)
step 14 - choose format and type in your password. (this will delete everything on your card and reformat it)
step 15 - take minisd card out of your phone and put it in your pc, now load mp3 format music files in it. then put card back in phone and go to mp3

I have the VX9900 is there anything differant that you have to do b/c this doesnt work for me.... there is no music setting

also i tryed to put some music/ringtone on my micro sd card and it has a write protect on it and there is nothing that i can do

please help
