I just got my new EnV LG-VX9900 the other day and it's great. There's just one small problem. It talks to me. When I lose signal a woman's voice comes one and says "Service lost" or some such. When I get a text message it says "New text message from Ashley". I've been through all the menus (I think) but can't figure out how to turn it off. Is it possible to turn that off and, if so, how? Go into Sounds Settings, then Service Alerts. Make sure that ERI Sounds and Call Connect are off.
