Lg Vx5300

I have an LG VX5300 that was on Verizon wireless service. I got it unlocked and now I have Jump Mobile service. Jump Mobile is another service for a company called Cricket. Anyways, I heard there is an update for it. Where and how do I get that update onto my phone?? Also, I cannot access the web or send pictures to emails. Does anyone know how I can go about getting that to happen?? Another thing that is very weird and is really pissing me off, when I call customer support and it asks me for my phone number area code first, I enter it and it says my account can't be found. I've tried for hours to get ahold of customer server and to talk with a real person but can't because of the number/account problem. Is there another number that does not ask for info?? First of all, whose customer service were you trying to call? From the tone of your post, it sounds like you might have tried calling Verizon Wireless customer service, This is why they couldn't find your account by the 10 digit mobile number. If you haven't already done so, you need to call Jump Mobile.

Second, as to your web and messaging issues, you will never be able to use Jump Mobile's network features on a phone running Verizon software. The only way to fix it would be to install Jump Mobile's software (which may not be an option since they probably don't sell that particular model, and if they do, they would not be very hip on loading it on your Verizon branded phone.

Best bet, pony up a few extra bucks and buy a phone directly from your service provider.

Well you see, Jump mobile is Cricket but in a different way to pre-pay. When I called to talk to a rep. it says, "Welcome to Cricket" so I know it wasn't the wrong service number. Besides, I was calling the number I got from the pamplet for Jump mobile. I have found out the reason I can't get on the net. Because Jump mobile doesn't offer internet for their cell phones atm. So either way I'm screwed.

Now my main concern is how to get the new filmware for the phone.

Another thing is, I found a data cable for $30.00. Does anyone know for a fact I can get it some where else for cheaper?? I want to experiment with a few things. Maybe with some help from here it will happen. First thing I want to do is use it as a web cam. Possible?? Second thing is, I want to erase the "Verizon" logo that appears on the external lcd and create my own to replace it. I also want to get some freakin' ring tones for it, but I can't seem to find anything that will work for Jump mobile.

My wife has the VX5300.....I can get it to conect to my Pc using bitman but when I try to transfer my phone numbers to it, they're grayed out as not an option.......Does anyone know a different software that will let me updtae the VX5300 with the numbers from my old phone? This is a Verizonwireless phone. Help!!!
