#1 | | Newbie | Ok I have this problem with my phone and im wondering if anyone can help. 1st off is there a Hard reset for the LG VX8300? I mean a way to clear all data off of the phone if anyone is confused. there is about 28 mb of internal memory on the phone but for some reason 22mb is taken up by some application that I cant seem to find or use and dont remember putting on there. If anyone can tell me how to either fix this or tell me im S.O.L that would be great. Thanks in advance

Applications can be anything that you downloaded from Get It Now; games, ringtone applications, VZNavigator, etc. The phones operating system, your contact list, ringtones and wallpapers can also be counted in that used chunk of memory.

#4 | | Newbie | Thanks for the help, but there isnt a "master reset" on the LG VX8300. at least not one i have found. and I have no applications on my phone. I have a total of 4 images, 2 ringtones and one 15 second video clip. all that only comes to 1015.29 kb. I have no games or other things like that one the phone but when I check the memory it says 21.64mb for application. But yeah thanks again but there isnt a master reset on this model phone.

#5 | | I hate spammers! | All LG phones have a master reset. Go to "Settings and Tools", "Phone Settings", "Security" (your code is by default the last 4 digits of your mobile number, unless you changed it). "Master Reset" is the last option.

#6 | | Newbie | ok I did all the steps up to choosing Master reset because the phone only gives me 3 choices. 1) Lock Mode. 2)Edit Code. 3)Reset Default. I chose # 3 and all it did was make the phone look like it was when I 1st got it. the memory hasnt changed at all. Still have all my contacts pics and vid clip. So there isnt a master reset after all for the LG VX8300. Thanks for the help anyway ill just have to deal with it I guess.

You are under manufacturer's warranty, so take the phone back and get it replaced.

#10 | | Newbie | Sorry it took me so long to answer back I didn't think anyone else would leave anything here.No I never was able to fix it and in the end I was past the point where i could send it in to get a new one because I didn't get that extended insurance on it. Still don't know what the prob is so Im just planning on getting a 1 GB Micro SD card to expand the memory and hope that doesn't crap out on me too. Wish I had good news for you but don't, sorry about that.
Oh and one question, do you use Bitpim? At 1st I thought it may have been because of that program but then I thought maybe i was wrong due to not seeing anyone else having problems like that with Bitpim. If you tried to add something to your phone through that program and now your memory is being taken up by something that you cant see or use, maybe Bitpim is to blame. Don't know for sure just an idea, but would help figure out the prob with both of our phones.

As for getting your phone replaced... that phone is less than a year old, making it exchangeable under the manufacturer's warranty. Unless that phone is otherwise damaged, any Verizon corporate location should be able to swap it out for you. You don't need the insurance!
