2gb Mini SD for vx8100, Memory Loss. Now sees 980 mb.

Hi everyone.

I have a question. I bought a 2gb Mini SD for my vx8100. I put music and videos on it already and the phone and computer recognized it at 2gb. Then all of the sudden, when I unplugged my memory card reader from the computer and inserted it into my phone it read, No songs found on memory card. So I plugged it back into the computer right away. After that my computer said it needed to be formatted. So I had no other choice but to insert it into my phone to format it. After I formatted it, I plugged it back into my computer and now it only shows I have 980mb of memory on it. I've tried defragging it, doing some recovery programs, nothing, so I was hoping you guys know what to do or have had the same problem. I would greatly appreciate it.

Your phone will only recognize up to 1GB of expandable memory. This means that your 2GB card has 1GB of wasted money on it! There is no way to fix it or mod it. As for the "lost memory" your speak of, a 1GB card would only have about 980MB of usable space on it after being formatted. The missing 20MB contains the cards file allocation table (FAT) settings.
