Owned an Lg VX6100 for 3 years without problem but last month or so when the receiving party answers, the signal strength drops to zero and voice cuts in and out.
This happens in strong signal area as well as weak, and the only way to maintain a conversation is to hook it up to an antenna.
Should I just junk it, or do you know of any solutions to this problem?
    Thanks

Most likely it is a side effect of the dismantling of the analog network. Your phone is a Tri-Mode (2 digital bands + 1 analog "back-up" band) phone, which relies on analog signal to ensure the best signal strength. Now that there is no analog signal for your phone to rely on, it is more important than ever that you do your *228 updates monthly (assuming that you are on Verizon).

Plus, your phone is 3 years old, it is probalby time to think about an upgrade.

Thanks for the replies, and I do update regularly but that didn't help.
In the meantime I picked up an identical model pretty cheaply, and it seems to be working fine so I'll soldier on with it in the meantime.
