LG Shine MUSIC playing question!

i have 2 questions concerning LG shine and Music

so i got united states service AT&T w/ 1gb Micro SD.

Q1: can LG shine play music and browse around the phone (maybe texting) while listening at same time? because once i get out of the media player, music stops. also, i wasnt able to but can i play music as
like a playlist and not 1 at a time?
Q2: the LG sine music interface/skin for AT&T looks really gay. is there a way i can change it? like use the European skin?
