Mp3s into Ringtones for an LG VX8300

I'm not sure if this should go here or on the Verizon boards, but here goes.

I'm currently using a (relatively old) LG VX8300. The other day I stumbled across one of those "how to make your own ringtones" websites. I've tried everything. Mobile17.com, emailing through vzwpix.com, even trying to use the Bluetooth + BitPim doesn't work. I'm still able to receive picture messages, other emails from vzwpix.com, and connect my phone to my computer through Bluetooth, but I can't get any of these ringtones to send. I've read through the threads on this a number of times, but haven't really seen this problem. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

is the site i use to make the ringtone for my verizon phone. and here is the magic trick to get it on your phone as a ringtone

1. Insert your mini/micro sd with card/card reader adapter into your computer

2. Locate your edited ringtone in mp3 or midi format up to 25 secs in length

3. Copy and paste your song file into the folder on your card named "my Sounds"

4. Remove your sd card and insert back into phone

5. Locate ur song in *Get it Now*---*My Sounds*-----

6. "SEND" the selected tone to YOURSELF or whoever you choose. Yes u can text/picture message your own phone.

7. When you receive the message download it and it make take more than once to download. Once you hear the song play choose Options----Save as Ringtone.

I tried this but found a problem. I put the ringtones, which were in MP3 format, in the -my sounds- folder on my SD card, but when I put it in, the phone did not put them in the -My Sounds- section. Instead they were only listed amongst my other music. Any suggestions? I really want to get this to work...

If you are able to receive picture and video messages, this will work for you. Go to magix.com and download the free download of Magix Ringtone Maker
3. You can create any ringtone from any music you have. Once you have created a ringtone, save it at the bottom of the program as a mp3 format and click export. A pop up window will show and click ok.
No go to your e-mail and type in your number at vzwpix.com. Attach the file and you should be fine. This is the way I do it with my LG env2. I hope this helps.
