"Registering applications" on power-up.

I just got an LG VX8550 Chocolate two days ago and, with each power-up, it says "registering applications." I haven't downloaded or used any applications. Does this happen to anyone else? Does anyone know why this happens?

I am having this issue with my new LG Dare.
I had disabled ability to use web and VCast.
I had just added ringtones via cable.
Can you give any more info? I am curious as to what the bottom line is.
It's as if the phone is reporting back/syncing to Verizon.
