#1 | | Member | Just got the Dare from Verizon. I LOVE IT
Only thing that sucks is i cant do anything with it on bitpim, because it keeps saying "file system is locked by service provider."
Anybody know when bitpim will support this phone?
I really miss my free nav, and all my ringtones

#3 | | Junior Member | I've heard that the phone will automatically become "locked" after activation, but you may access the file system through bitpim before activating it.

It let me look through all the files system and whatnot, but i could not change anything.
Think i should try to manually set it as like a venus or voyager?

#6 | | Newbie | You can use it with Bitpim... make sure you've set the phone to LG-VX9100 in the settings tab... then use the filesystem (tree) and go to BREW>10899>ringtones
If it still says denied, check back in the settings thats its set on LG-VX9100, sometimes after you open the filetree, it reverts back to a different setting. You should not get the access denied now.

The only "9's" there are, is vx9900, vx9800 and vx9400.
I just tried 9900 and got same message. I'll try the other "9's" and maybe also the vx10000

#8 | | Member | Ok, figured somthing out accidentaly. I right clicked on 10889, instead of ringtones, and clicked add file and it did it. But then when i right clicked on ringtones, then add file it said it was blocked by provider. but when i right clicked on the song i added into 10889 and say delete it says blocked by provider. So i can write to it, i just cant delete?
*UPDATE*
Have tried all different manual phone settings, all the 9's and the vx10000, and all get the same message when i try to write to 10889/ringtones. Says blocked by provider.
Also tried to make a backup of the file system, and it would not let you back up the mif's and the only mod folder was 10888, brewmappmgr, and obigo
